By Plane

The nearest major airport is located in Des Moines (DSM). Shuttle service is available to/from Ames; Executive Express offers a relatively frequent scheduled service. Car rentals are available at DSM. Drive to Ames is ~ 40 min.

One can travel to Minneapolis - St. Paul International Airport (MSP) or Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and then enjoy 3h or 6h drive to Ames (respectively) or a bus ride Jefferson Lines, Burlington Trailways.    

By Car

Traveling from the north (e.g., Minneapolis) or from the south (Des Moines), take I-35 to exit 113 and drive west along 13th Street into town. Or take US 30 (exit 111) west to South Duff or University Boulevard and go north into town. Traveling from the east (Chicago) or from the west (Omaha), take I-80 to I-35, and then I-35 north and as above. US 30 also reaches Ames direct from Omaha and Chicago.

Getting around in Ames

CyRide provides reliable bus service in Ames. 6 (Brown route) will bring you from the hotel to the campus.

Workshop will have a shuttle going between the hotel and the Physics Department / Ames National Laboratory in the morning and after the evening session.

Designated parking spaces (Lot 26) will be available close to the Department / Laboratory.

Venue

Talks will be in 301 Spedding Hall, posters, exhibitors and lunches will be in 205 TASF.
